Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Crust:
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • For the Apple Filling:
  • 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • For the Cheesecake Filling:
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • For the Salted Caramel Sauce:
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Make the Crust: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Press into the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden. Let cool.
  2. Make the Apple Filling: In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add apple mixture and cook until apples are tender, about 8-10 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  3. Make the Cheesecake Filling: In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla and sour cream.
  4. Assemble the Pie: Pour cheesecake filling over the cooled graham cracker crust. Top with cooked apple filling.
  5. Bake: Bake in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the center is almost set. Let cool completely before refrigerating for at least 4 hours.
  6. Make the Salted Caramel Sauce: While the pie is cooling, make the salted caramel sauce. In a medium saucepan, melt sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it turns into a golden amber color. Add butter and stir until melted. Slowly pour in heavy cream and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in sea salt.
  7. Serve: Drizzle salted caramel sauce over the chilled cheesecake pie before serving.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on top of the caramel sauce before serving.
