Homemade Pumpkin Spice Donuts

These pumpkin spice donuts are the perfect fall treat! Baked to perfection and coated in a sweet pumpkin spice glaze, they’re irresistible with a cup of coffee or tea.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and pumpkin pie spice.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Transfer batter to a piping bag or a ziplock bag with the corner cut off. Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. For the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and pumpkin pie spice until smooth.
  9. Dip each donut into the glaze and place them back on the wire rack to allow the glaze to set.
  10. Enjoy!

Notes

For a richer flavor, use brown butter instead of melted butter in the donut batter.
