This Pumpkin Cinnamon Swirl Bread is a moist and flavorful treat, perfect for fall. The rich pumpkin bread is swirled with a sweet cinnamon mixture for a delightful breakfast or dessert.

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Swirl:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, oil, eggs, pumpkin puree, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon swirl ingredients: sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter.
  6. Pour half of the pumpkin bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle the cinnamon swirl mixture evenly over the batter.
  7. Pour the remaining pumpkin bread batter over the cinnamon swirl layer.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts to the batter.
