Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter, for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Spoon the batter into a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a corner cut off. Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. While the donuts are cooling, prepare the cinnamon sugar coating. In a shallow dish, combine the sugar and cinnamon.
  9. Brush each donut with melted butter, then dip it in the cinnamon sugar mixture, coating it evenly.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!
