  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Orange zest, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together egg and milk.
  3. Dip each piece of chicken in the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry chicken in batches for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
  6. In a wok or large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  7. In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey.
  8. Pour the sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to form a slurry. Add the slurry to the sauce and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
  10. Add the fried chicken to the skillet and toss to coat with the orange sauce.
  11. Garnish with orange zest and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.

Notes

Serve immediately over rice or noodles. For extra crispy chicken, double fry it. You can also use chicken breast instead of thighs.
