  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder
  • 2 tablespoons jasmine tea leaves, finely ground

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, matcha powder, and ground jasmine tea leaves.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

For an extra touch of elegance, dust the cooled cookies with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted white chocolate.
