This Homemade Spiced Pumpkin Butter is a delicious and easy way to enjoy the flavors of fall. Spread it on toast, bagels, or use it as a filling for pastries.

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and water.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in lemon juice.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  6. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

Try adding a pinch of cloves or allspice for an extra warm spice flavor. Enjoy on toast, waffles, or pancakes!
