Delicious Garlic Butter Chicken

This Garlic Butter Chicken is incredibly flavorful and easy to make! Juicy chicken breasts are pan-seared and then simmered in a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect served over rice or pasta.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add chicken breasts to the skillet and sear for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  4. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir in dried thyme. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  6. Return chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon garlic butter sauce over them.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately.

Notes

Serve this Garlic Butter Chicken over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes to soak up all the delicious sauce. For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lemon juice to the sauce at the end.
