A tempting plate of crispy chicken nuggets

These homemade chicken nuggets are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and so much healthier than store-bought! A quick and easy meal that kids and adults will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  2. In another shallow dish, place beaten eggs.
  3. In a third shallow dish, place panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Dip each piece of chicken in the flour mixture, then in the egg, and finally in the panko breadcrumbs, making sure to coat thoroughly.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Carefully place the coated chicken nuggets in the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the skillet.
  7. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove the chicken nuggets from the skillet and place on a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Serve these chicken nuggets with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ketchup, honey mustard, or BBQ sauce. For a healthier option, bake the nuggets in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
