Delicious Cedar Plank Salmon

Infuse your salmon with smoky cedar flavor! This Cedar Plank Salmon recipe is simple, healthy, and perfect for grilling or baking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cedar plank, untreated
  • 1.5 lbs salmon fillet, skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Soak the cedar plank in water for at least 2 hours, or overnight. Weigh it down to keep it submerged.
  2. Preheat grill to medium heat (350-400°F) or oven to 375°F.
  3. Remove the plank from the water and pat dry.
  4. Place the salmon fillet on the plank.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, dill, salt, and pepper.
  6. Brush the mixture evenly over the salmon.
  7. Arrange lemon slices on top of the salmon.
  8. If grilling: Place the plank with salmon on the preheated grill, close the lid, and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Check frequently to ensure the plank doesn’t catch fire; have a spray bottle of water handy.
  9. If baking: Place the plank with salmon on a baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through.
  10. Carefully remove the plank from the grill or oven. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve the cedar plank salmon with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete and healthy meal.
