Banana Bread

Freshly Baked Banana Bread

This moist and flavorful banana bread is the perfect way to use up ripe bananas. It’s easy to make and a comforting treat for breakfast, snack, or dessert!

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas.
  3. Stir in the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor and texture. Serve warm with a pat of butter.
